That would be a shame if it doesn’t.
Lead is a natural element, no such thing as "contamination" just more government BS! Like climate change, covid, piping open ditches, closing down logging, road abandonment, Spotted owl, wolves, grizzles, etc etc etc!
"That's why you don't see lead in gasoline or paint any longer." quote of IgorStudy up on it! More government BS! Took it out of paint back in the day because getto kids were dying from eating it off their walls, hint: they were that hungry. Out of gas because some flunkie in government, hint: EPA, so they could force the auto industry and oil company's to making a whole bunch of unnecessary changes. Its also known as, "backdoor gun control measures". Follow the money trails!!
Lead poisoning has been known as a serious problem for decades.https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2022/oct/27/after-50-years-of-shooting-plantation-rifle-range-/
I have seen first hand the effects of lead on a human. It's toxicity and it's effect on cognitive function are very real. There is really no doubt at all as to what taking lead out has done, positively for the health of all of us. The range closing really sucks. It was a good facility. It is not terribly surprising though. The contamination has been known to be there a long long time. I am unsure as to what the real exposure pathways are. The biggest issue is that he creek adjacent to the range flows to Lake Samish. Many people draw their water from the lake. I still doubt that there would be elevated lead levels in the lake itself though. I know a good bit about lead, the range and why it is being shut down. It will be interesting to see who goes off the rails here and asserts facts that are not facts.
