Wow, not a lot of compassion being shown here.

That was someone's grandma lying there helpless, listening to her dog get killed.
That would be terrible to go thru.
And does it really matter if it's a pug or a prized hunting dog?
Nobody on this site would laugh if it was a hound dog torn to shreds while the owner was helpless.

I agree, terrible.

How many pugs would it take to get hounds back?  Hmmm

I think the lack of compassion is a realization many of us have. Quit hunting cats and stuff like this happens. Something makes us revel in the fact that consequences are being paid back to those that caused the problems. The hope is that these folks will pay a price and see the errors of their voting/opinions. Sadly this connection is rarely realized.

Imo it's not any different than play stupid games win stupid prizes, or F around and find out.

Plenty of folks are loosing empathy  because "they" don't care about us, or enough to think problems through. :twocents:

I guess....

My mom's got a little *censored*zhu.  I can't stand that dog, but my mom loves it.   She will be devastated when she loses that tiny dog.   And she didn't vote to outlaw hound hunting.

I just think your lack of sympathy is aimed at the wrong person.

I suspect if your mom was laying helpless during something like this that you'd feel different.  At least I'd hope you would.

The fact they live in California is enough for me to assume they are a terrible person. Sorry, not sorry. There are grandmas out there that have committed murders. What does age have to do with it?

Yes frustration is often misplaced, AND Sportsmen like to think they have no ownership of the problem.  Sportsmen have been content to just complain, hopefully ACTION will help prevent the spread of such stupid laws.

The point is simple.

You have absolutely no idea how (or if) this woman has voted.
You have no idea at all, but in your anger you're happy to see somebody - anybody - suffer.

And I think that's just ugly.

It is completely classless to laugh at another's misfortune when you know nothing about them.

It is not a conservative value to laugh at another's misfortune.

Ignorance isn't always bliss

Maybe the dog walkers in California should start packing, that would surely slow down the cougar problems.

I met a guy from the wet side a few years back that I had plow snow for occasionally, he was telling me how this coyote would come down and play with his little dog. I told him the coyote would kill his dog, he assured me they were just playing and everything was cool. About a week later I ask the guy how his dog and the coyote were getting along, he said the coyote carried his screaming little dog into the woods and he hadn't seen it since.

Pretty sure most folks would say good for the moutain lion if it attacked a legal hunter. My compassion got left in Somalia. Stupid votes, enjoy natural consequences.

Yotes will play until they are hungry. Father in law knew that when he saw one trying to talk his Britney off the porch. He looked out the side window and there were three around the side waiting. He fired a shot that scared all of them off.

I think your pink car avatar is just ugly. And laughing at other people's misfortunes is part of life. Like laughing at funny accidents that people survived from. I have learned to laugh at my own misfortunes as well. My grandmothers dog got picked up by a cougar in her backyard in Geiger by the Spokane Airport. I laughed when my dad told me and felt bad for her as well. She loved that dog! Your virtue signaling doesn't mean squat to me. Get over yourself.

If you want to laugh at other people's misfortune, I guess that's up to you.

I don't see laughing at a very traumatic event for an old lady as being a decent thing to do.

But you be you.

So let me see if I’ve got this straight, if you live a state that has limited rules for hunting cougars and your dog gets snatched by a cougar you deserve it because that’s what you obviously voted for?

I live in Washington, I’m an avid hunter, I own a dog, I have cougars constantly on my game cameras, hate they cougar hunting restrictions but deserve what I get if my dog gets attacked.

Wow! Just wow!
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

What? You won't sellout and move for the sake of your doggies safety?

You are an uncaring person and shouldn't own a dog.. :chuckle:

Nobody said she deserved it. The self righteous Hunting Washington Forum club can relax. If you stepped on a nail and were writhing in pain. I would laugh at you. Me posting "Damn nature, you scary" was from a joke on Family Guy. People who don't enjoy humor in all things are the saddest thing on earth to me. You guys are far better humans than I am, I get it. I know two kids attacked by lions, a kid who was hiking on Abercrombie man got hit because he was whining and lagging behind the parents.   Ran into that kid later and asked him if he like to hike and backpack like his parents still, ya no he still has trauma and his hair is a bugger to cut right due to the scars

Another kid 10 miles from here in 101 got hit in his grandmas yard, cat drug the kid up the hill and grandma beat it with a broom

Another kid almost got hit while feeding her goats, she bonked the cat with a shovel.  WDFW killed the cat about 100 yards away

So while it’s terrible to listen to a pug scream, that  utterly pales in comparison to a young child screaming as he or she is being drug away.

I had a cat try to get my dog when I had kids in tow after picking hucks, followed a good 1/2 mile as we stayed in a tight formation back to the wheelers
