Another funny Turkey Story.......
« on: May 31, 2009, 03:59:54 PM »
This just happened a week ago. I had a hunter from Florida and we had not hardly heard a gobble that morning. We had been covering lots of ground just trying to find a gobble we could work. We stopped at a really nice duck pond to throw out a few loud calls and to look at some of the ducks on the pond while we listened.

After several periods of waiting, calling, and listening, my hunter asked if i had any extra paper and headed up into the trees to take care of his daily duty. Out of desperation I pulled the loud speaker end off one of my shock calls and blew a super loud yelp with my reed though it. Wow, I heard a distant gobble so I yelped as loud as I could again. The gobble was a little closer, this repeated several times until this turkey was literally only about 200 yards and closing fast. :yike: :yike: :yike:

Ooooops.....here comes the hunter running out of the trees, pulling up his pants and trying to get everything back together....he had not taken his gun....so he grabs it and heads to the nearest cover.......oops again, too late, busted by the bird....LOL :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Murphy's Law...Its happened to me too!  LOL.  Those Florida Guys are a little jumpy anyways..cause when they squat down there in Florida, there might be a cotton mouth or an alligator looking at them!  LOL
