Is it legal to hunt in WA with a muzzle loader using 209 primers? I have a ML that I bought years ago and never used as it wasn't legal to hunt with 209 primers at that time.

thanks for all the advice guys ill look into your recommendations. i was leaning towards the g4 one because they advertise it as "the most accurate muzzleloader on the market" and its dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for and I dont want something thats going to be full of rust

Don’t get caught up and think you have to pay an arm and a leg to get a good muzzleloader too many people think that
The one you’re looking at will work great
As for the rust keep it clean and it will last forever have fun

its hard to belive that the g4 would be more accurate then the fierce.

Used a G4 to take my antelope last year. Seems pretty accurate.

I'm no help, I use a pair of Thompson Hawkins, .50 & .54. As @HntnFsh said only use RWS #11 caps, I've never had a miss fire. I also only use Uncle Mike's hot shot nipple. The only miss fire was due to some longer CCI caps, driving to a new area we had a bull step out a grabbed the first cap I found I had to drop the hammer twice to get it to go off.

Additionally, if you ever look to hunt outside WA with it, you may not be able to use 209's, depending upon where or an inline.  Knight has some models with Western conversion or conversion to 209 primers, just a thought to keep in mind.  Here in MT you can't use an inline, so I had to buy an Investarm side percussion cap model to use here last year, now I have 3 muzzy's  :chuckle:  And I bought that because all the old flint lock n percussion cap guns you could buy everywhere for dirt cheap for years were nowhere to be found  :bash:  Ordered from muzzleloaders.com? out of La Grande, quality company if you ever need em.
