Suppressors are not only a big $$$ investment but regardless of what anyone tells you figure on it taking a year before you get approved and can take it home.  If it comes back sooner, great, but if it doesn't you'll be a lot less disappointed.  Also, do your research, do your research, do your research and just about the time you think your eyes are going to cross because you've read soooo much information about suppressors, some of it even conflicting, do even more research.  Look at them as a life long investment, because they pretty much are, so educate yourself as much as possible before you make a selection, it'll save you money in the long run.

I have a few different cans, TBAC, SAS, Dead Air, and Silencer Central some are definitely better than others.

Suppressors in the 1.5 diameter class, you'll be hard pressed to find a better can then the TBAC Ultra 7 and Ultra 9.  They're some of, if not, lightest, most repeatable, and quietest cans on the market in the 1.5 dia. class.  They are typically what all the other manufacturers are chasing and compare themselves to.  The Ultras come in 6.5 and 30 cal.  Their 22TD rimfire can is one of the best rimfire cans you can buy and their new Magnus is a beast and the quietest dedicated 30 cal can on the market but the Magnus also cost quite a bit more and are a fair bit heavier than their Ultra series suppressors.

IMO, a suppressor that has crazy good suppression, isn't super expensive, not particularly long (8.4in) and is still very lightweight (12.6oz), is the Dead Air Nomad LT.  It's a 1.7 dia. can so a little bigger than a 1.5 but for its size and weight it is one of the best 30 cal suppressors out there.  It also has interchangeable end caps.  It's still a 30 caliber core so I'm not sure there is all that much benefit to swapping to smaller caliber end caps if you used it on a 6.5 or 22 but it's an option.  Dead Air also makes one of the best rimfire cans on the market.  The DA Mask and TBAC TD are two rimfire cans that are more often than not in everyone's top three.

Ray Sanchez is a co-owner of TBAC and the testing Ray does along with their high tech metering equipment Ray puts out very good and honest results.  They test lots of different suppressors, in fact, Ray will test any companies suppressor that will send them one to test and Ray gives very honest info.  If they test/meter any other suppressor and it meters lower then one of TBAC's cans Ray has no problem giving kudos, right in the video, to that company for making a great can.

Among the cans I have are 22 caliber and 6.5 caliber specific suppressor, they're great, but if I knew then what I know now I would have skipped past both of those and went straight to one of the top rated 30 cal cans and saved myself a lot of money.  I think the only suppressor I regret buying is the Banish 30 from Silencer Central.  It's not a bad suppressor it's just that there are better ones out there for the same money.
