Isaiah practiced last night and is out hunting this morning, there’s a good sized flock within site now.

There’s a dead bird on the ground in the above photo. They took it to the taxidermist to be mounted. Congrats Isaiah!

I’ll let him post his photos and story!

Huge shoutout to Bearpaw Outfitters! thanks for making a memorable time for my boy and I. You can just tell that everyone loves what they do and are genuine all around good people. Taras cooking was phenomenal and the personal yet professional guide Daniel was top notch. Thanks to everyone and the hunting community, this is what it’s all about, get ‘em young in the woods! Isaiah is smiling ear to ear with his first big Tom, Thankyou!

Congrats. That smile says it all.

Side note, daniel that works for dale is one awesome kid and hard worker. He crossed a raging river in January to retrieve the dogs when we were cougar hunting.

Again congrats on a great bird and big props to dale and the crew at Bearpaw for making this happen.

First morning our guide put us right under some roosted birds. The birds only let out a couple gobbles it was wet and cold. When the birds finally flew down they landed all around us and that's when Logan probably should have shot but was worried about hitting the other birds around the tom he was focused on. They moved out to about fifty yards and we watched them chase each other a little bit . They finally started back towards us and Logan was ready they never stopped moving and they moved to within 15 yds. Logan was about to pull the trigger and then a couple of deer moved in right behind the toms. After that the turkeys moved out of range and never gave us another shot that day.
Second morning new location the birds are very vocal this morning such a wonderful sound. Birds fly down on a small rise about 60 to 70 yds out. It's a large flock over 100 birds with probably 15 toms. We watch the birds feed and strut for almost an hour staying just out of range. One finally comes to about 40 yds and Logan shoots. A few feathers fly and the other birds aren't spooked but they do work a few yds further out. We keep an eye on that tom for awhile and he seemed to have shaken it off. We watched the birds for another hour always staying just out of range. Finally a gobbler started our way a beardless tom came to about 45 yds I couldn't convince Logan to take a poke at him after missing at that range earlier. And that was our hunt.
Logan had a great time still and can't wait to get back out later this season.
Thank you again everyone especially bearpaw outfitters.

Sounds like a great fun hunt.
Logan made a great decision on the first Tom when he didn’t shoot worrying about the other birds
