03 March to 02 June, Cancer delima UPDATE
« on: March 03, 2023, 11:13:21 PM »
Bottom line up front. My son (46yr)  Kenny's oncologist wants him to stop working now. If he does that, at certain  point he would not have job and would not have heath care. My question  is what do you do? How should this be managed? This is going to come up in the near future anyway.

So, today 3Mar after a couple weeks of testing the pathology of a biopsy of mass in his lymph node shows  clear cell cancer which is inoperable and untreatable. They say he has 1 to 3 years. He had Hodgkins cancer when he was 11 treated with radiation, the same cancer when he was 13 treated with chemo. He was good untill two years ago he had quad bypass open heart surgery. This new issue started up about 6 weeks ago starting with a sore neck.

He is worried  about his wife and son(15).

I am soliciting prayers!

They are going to biopsy  another  mass in or on his lung to determine if it is the same or other type of cancer this week.

Starting treatments this coming Friday. Which seems weird if it is un treatable, it said if it is beneficial? I' check  the term again and get back on.

Immunotherapy as long as it is beneficial. When I looked up clear cell cancer it said you could live up to 5 years.

But he his having  some issues breathing and coughing now, sounds horrible, but still going into work because he wanted to manage days for when he really  need to take off. Before this bad news he thought  the worse case would be doing  chemo  he was already  talking about having  an access port put in like when he was going  through treatment  when he was a kid.

This truly sucks and prayers sent
Cancer sucks, period!
My spouse works at SCCA/Fred Hutch and I hear these stories daily
All tragic with the occasional bright spot
Where is he getting treatment?
There are good ones and not so good ones
Even docs within any clinic
May be able to help
PMs will be responded to
And more prayers to him, you and your family

One shot. One kill!

I will find out what the local place is. I'm looking at MD Anderson in TX, my sister checking  a place in AZ. Heck we are even looking at dog de wormer. Why not, if you are going to tell me it's untreatable.

Prayers to your son and his family.  That’s too darn young!

Seems like he should be able to qualify for SS Disability pay, I’d start there.

Yes. Apply for social security disability. After two years on disability people are automatically on Medicare, I don’t know if he can get it sooner than that. It’s a good question to ask when on the phone applying for disability.

I also went to SCCA, I think they changed their name to Fred Hutch Cancer Center recently, with very late stage cancer & they saved my life.  A second opinion is always worthwhile. MD Anderson in Texas also has a very good reputation. If the place in Arizona your sister is checking is Cancer Centers of America , I’d encourage your family to tread carefully. They advertise fantastic success rates, but they do it by only selecting patients with the very best health insurance and cherry picking cases with the easiest to treat cancer.

Y’all got my prayers!

If it were me I’d try autophagy if my weight was good enough, and I’d do NAC and Ivermectin while not fasting

If you haven’t heard of autophagy you’ve got some reading to do
