Not a bit surprised. This place is going to hell (CA/OR) real fast.

Wow, so once it hits the floor, it will be passed.  You democrats are Friggon amazing! This will eventually be over turned, it’s clearly unconstitutional. But they know it will take years to over turn. One thing that I’m not sure of, the pre purchase license, will that require a class to take before you can buy any gun? And is Oregon losing all their gun stores because of this law? ( they passed it months ago)
“In common with”..... not so much!!

Question for the group… I’ve read thru the whole bill, and like all WA bills, are confusing and likely left open to interpretation to take more rights away as however they see fit. There is a section that talks about “assembly”.
My question is:
Will this “assault” weapons ban, ban the ability to buy and assemble AR parts? Such as lower parts kit, complete uppers/upper parts, stocks/barrels and the such? I’d imagine stripped lowers won’t be allowed for purchase…
Maybe someone knows. Maybe just their own interpretation… Hope for the best, but need to prepare for the worst…

Thanks

Its all about perception. Just how do they perceive the law.

Very little time was spent on AR components, but he makes it sound as if components such as lower parts and upper parts will also be outlawed.

Either way, buy now.

So, if the house votes to approve HB1240, does it then go to the senate????  or because the senate had a similar bill that died.....does it just go to committee and  when passed by the house goes direct to the governor?

Been some debate on this and I can't find a definitive answer.

It will have to go to the Senate. HB 1240 picked up more steam than it's companion bill in the Senate so the Senate did not work on their version. No use in working on the same bill at the same time. If the Senate makes any amendments it will go back to the House for re-vote and then to Inslee. If the Senate doesn't make any changes and passes it, straight to Inslee's desk.

Oregon's 114 bill that included pre-purchasing licensing is still on hold thanks to an injunction by a county judge.

And general consensus from what I've read (both in reading the bill and other's opinions) is that HB 1240 will prevent you from buying AR specific parts including stripped lowers. Or, at least, most companies won't want to test the waters and simply not sell to Washington. Things like suppressors, flash hiders, red dots, etc. that could be used on rifles or shotguns we should still be able to buy...but again, depends on whether companies are willing to sell in Washington.

So likely not gonna go into law in the next day or two....but AR's and lowers are flying off the shelf.  If you want one and wait, you likely won't be able to find one in a week.  I was at a gun store this morning an 8 lowers sold in about 45 minutes.   :yike:

If you haven't noticed, Dems make the greatest gun salesmen/women ever PLUS they make good comrades too!

Almost forgot, they are also our "mass" shooters in this nation!

Yeah I picked up a couple at WCA in Bellevue a few weeks back. Expected them to have sold out but they had stocked up for all the panic buyers.
