Banks lake weather?
« on: March 12, 2023, 05:12:23 PM »
Can anyone tell me what the north end of banks is like right now? Does it have ice?
My dads going with my uncle next week and I told him I’d ask and see. They want to fish out of their boat. Any help would would be appreciated.

There was ice a few weeks back.  Not sure about now.  Give Coulee Playland a call if you don't get a reply here.  +1 509-633-2671

South end for sure is still solid ice, save for a few of the bays.

North end is wide open.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

How about Lenore?  Any ice at the north end?

was breaking up pretty well when I went by a week age, but it's been a week. Suspect it might be open now as Temps have hit mid 40s everyday since.

Its thawed now except for a little on the south end two days ago. Also  i was hearing it was dropping but it was as high as i have ever seen it. The canal was full but not flowing.

Well, we did make it out there this weekend.  Got there Saturday night just before dark and did pretty well.  Picked up 4 fish before dark on black and red Balanced Leeches.

I think this is actually the biggest fish I've landed out there since I was in high school back in the 80s.  Had to be over 25" (I didn't put a tape to her).

Then, of course, we went back the next morning and got absolutely skunked (along with about 6 or 8 other guys).  Fished from 8:30am until noon without so much as a hit.  Oh well... at least we had one good evening.
