for elk i think its great, gives everyone the same chance of buying a leftover instead of it depending on what store or who is working it.

Except the season might be over by the time you get a chance to buy one.

Well be in Alaska going for moose most of archery, but I'll get in a few days at the end before moving on to muzzy if needed.

I drew deer for the first time.  Is there a next step?  do I have to purchase the tag again?

You will need to exchange your current tag for the multi season and pay for it. Your current tag came with your big game license. You have to pay additional for the multi season. If you have not selected a tag for this season you can choose the multi tag when you buy your license.

I wonder if you can get your points back and return the multi tags if you do it before the end of submission period for special pemits?  If I draw in another state or a private land permit before the permit deadline, I won't want my multi tags.  I'll have to call them.
