April 6-8 Commission Meeting
« on: March 31, 2023, 03:37:45 PM »
Shouldn’t the adoption of the hunting rule proposals be on the agenda for this meeting, given that the next meeting isn’t until May 12th? I looked at the agenda for next weeks meeting, and am not seeing it listed…?

I was wondering the same thing. No mention in their agenda about adopting season dates  :bash:

Received an email on 3/29/23 that special permits are available until May 24 does this mean we can purchase now and submit?

General seasons are already set. Seasons for 2021, 2022, and 2023 were all set back in 2021. But yes, I would think approval of the special permit quotas and any other proposed changes would be on the agenda for sometime before the middle of April.

Last year's agenda was specific and with WDFW recommendations voted on April 8
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

I was also looking last nite for a draft of the new big game plan, with season dates and all that last nite.
Didn't see much in the agenda myself on the subject.
But I was also going through last meeting agenda.
And watched some of those meetings.

So ya ,I'm also looking for those two items.
Big game management plan draft.
Season dates that go with the draft.

Actually it says "on or after March 28, 2023".   That leaves it pretty open.   :dunno:

They delegated “non predator” hunting seasons to the director.
I’m not sure where they are at with rule proposals, as I just started listening to this year’s meetings.

2024,2025,2026 season dates is what I was looking for.
Or any rules that may change with new big game plan.
Any new permits, permit numbers, for 2023

I guess that's why I was looking at agenda and stuff.

2024, 2025, and 2026 season setting you'll see next January.

Proposed permit numbers for 2023 we've already seen. We should be seeing the new pamphlet within the next two weeks.

Hey Bobcat. Can you post the link to the proposed permit numbers when you get a chance?

Ya I mean raising or lowering tags with population trends.
Is pretty normal. And what most other states do too.
So I'm not too upset about it.

Anybody hear if the commission approved 2023?  I think they have to formally approve it for WDFW to start "the machine" for next season.
