Homeowner facing prosecution for shooting intruder?
« on: March 31, 2023, 07:18:33 PM »
Did I just hear Kiro 7 correctly saying that a Seattle homeowner that shot a burglar earlier this week may face charges?  They said the king county prosecutor is “exploring options for charges in the case” but the burglar is dead so they are now “searching “ for charges in the home invasion?

Don’t shoot em in the yard

 :bdid:

The video is too large to post but the intruder was not in the yard according to the clip. The intruder supposedly died in the doorway after kicking the door in and after the homeowner called 911

Can someone post the link to the news article? I can’t seem to find it.

That is the Kiro report.

The homeowner says the burglar was coming at him and was on the phone with 911 but it appears the king county prosecutor is determined to find a charge to hit a homeowner and gun owner with.

…..it appears the king county prosecutor is determined to find a charge to hit a homeowner and gun owner with.

It said no such thing. All it stated on both articles was:

“The case is still being investigated, police said” and “the investigation is ongoing”. THE actual on air report only said that the homeowner was not charged but added without attribution “that could change”. There was a no other official statement and your hypothesis seems to be based on a rather off the cuff statement by a reporter

Might be blending two stories. This week a persons car was stolen, they tracked it and ended up shooting the person. Car owner is now in jail.

This might stop people from stealing cars in my opinion I think it’s BS the car owner is in jail

Have to shoot them on the spot. Once you pursue your claim to self defense is gone.

Yes I understand that what I was talking about has nothing to do with self defense it has to do with getting your stuff back and bad guys understanding hey I might get shot taking someone’s stuff
If enough people did that guess what crime would go down

Sorry about the thread jack
