One benefit of buying the multi-season tag before applying for quality draws is the ability to put in for a quality hunt area for multiple chances to draw...my example is if you really want an Entiat quality permit then you can put in for the modern firearm permit and the archery permit using your two options for the quality application for one unit...

That is what I was thinking, you get to put in for all 3 weapon choices, + 2nd deer choices for each weapon and in my case 65+ for each weapon.
Multi-season tag holders can apply for special hunts for all three weapon types. Elk Multi-season tag holders are eligible to apply for special hunts on both sides of Washington state.

So I just spoke to WDFW and got clarification on the MS tag. You still only get 4 choices, in my case deer, but they can be for any weapon, but still only 4 choices. BTW, I was told that if i'm not drawn for the tag I want I can return my MS deer tag and get a full refund AND my points back as long as it's at least 2 weeks before the start of the season.

Boy gotta love good ol' wdfw, I drew MS elk and deer last year and was told I could not turn the MS tag back in for a refund after purchasing.  :chuckle: :bash:

You only get two choices on the Quality deer application. Multi-season tag doesn't change anything as far as number of choices you have. And, I would get a second opinion on turning the multi-season tag in for point restoration. Doesn't sound right to me.

Yes, quality deer is only 2 choices, BUT all other applications are 4 choices. I'm just telling you guys what I was told an hour ago, but yes after reading some of the other replies I agree on the second opinion. Although I don't intend on returning my tag regardless. My hunting buddy just had shoulder surgery and cant bow hunt this year so we are going back to MZ, while my son still wants to bow hunt, so I can do both now. We'll see where next year takes us.

So, if GOHUNT says that I have a .01% chance of drawing my elk tag, that is assuming that my name is only going "in the hat" once?

No, you put in there how many points you have for that particular species, category etc so it calculates that as well. I use the draw trends feature probably more than anything. It helps me see the true point creep of the unit

 :yeah:
Gohunt just for washington is likely not worth the dollars as the draw is too random to give truly accurate predictions for a given permit, unit, or year. However it can be valuable for wa trends, and saves tons of time (unfortunately)  if applying in multiple states and areas within them.
I look at multi season as an opportunity to get more chances to hunt, but dont know many folks who truly get to use their multi and permit points in conjuction in a given year. I personally dont know anyone who has had that kind of luck, unless straight point dumping.

It can happen but the odds are probably crazy. I had it happen for elk in 2021 where I drew multi and then Quality elk. I had more points for Multi elk than I should have to draw and less than I should have for the Quality tag. Again I feel I had crazy luck that year. You may not know me personally but we have met when I bought a bow from you last year. :tung:

I agree with you the chances of the stars aligning to draw both even with a lot of point is crazy slim.
