Dang big Squirrels
« on: June 16, 2023, 01:37:23 PM »
Anyone noticing all of the bear issues this spring or bear encounters.  I can't help but think, wow, if only they had a spring bear season.    Now I realize that even with the spring bear season, there seemed to be more bear encounters.
Anyhow, just perusing social media which happens to be filled with, I dont even know how to classify them other than idiots,  I have noticed more reports on Yogi and friends.

I wonder how many idiots will have to be mauled before they catch a clue

I was at an estate sale this morning in Deer Meadows. The people holding the sale had a large garbage bin dropped next to the garage. Last night a bear climbed in and tore the heck out of everything and his foot prints were all over the side of the bin where he was trying to get out.  Bears everywhere..
Thanks for all for your past support...We officially pulled the plug and have retired from the Biz. Still dabble a little in real estate.

Not sure about state wide but in my area of southern wa, our bears had a pretty tuff summer and fall last year with late berry crops. The bears we killed were all really skinny. I’m sure they went into winter hungrier than normal. This summer will have a late crop again. Not to mention the population has just continued to grow every year with or without spring bear season. Which forces bears to find new territory which means your back yard.

Without a state wide spring season and baiting being made legal there’s no hope for controlling bear numbers. Luckily bear hunting is getting more popular but thats not enough.

Yeah I noticed bear movement was through the roof in the blues last season because there was so little food at each bush. The bear I killed might have rendered a half cup of oil it was so lean. Very tough winter indeed.
