Issue: Some 2017-2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0096 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an issue with the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the MAP sensor

Thanks,

I’ll change the MAP sensor if it comes back.

Shifting change might be due to resetting the keep alive memory?  I did disconnect the battery.

I used to work with a former Ford software engineer, he had some interesting stories that make me wonder about what’s really going on in there.

Resetting KAM will not cause it to happen, but maybe if you disconnected the battery, it might erase the adaptive shift strategies. 100 miles of driving should get that relearned and back to normal.
