It is a blast, have been a couple times.  Only prob with stevens is the camping (if you camp), not many spots available, call asap to reserve IF you can. Also the traffic is a complete nightmare unless you stay till Monday.  Great time for sure, I won’t go till it comes to crystal or somewhere else more convenient.  You have to do it once at least!
“In common with”..... not so much!!

I have been wanting to do it. My buddy and I bought tickets in 2020' and they had to cancel on us, so gonna try again this year. It would be a good exercise before going to Wyoming for elk (assuming I draw).

Seems like you could park in Lot G and camp behind it? Not sure if they're strict about camping in the summer, I know they are in the winter.

There's also plenty of forest roads down either side of the pass. I have some spots down Beckler creek if anyone wants a good one. Just PM me.

Lucky for me, I'll sleep in my truck for free. Probably stay until Monday morning if I go, plenty of hiking to do around there.

So, for a newb, do most people shoot all three days?  Looks like there is ample opportunity on different courses each day.  If you're solo, do you get assigned to a group or just go for it?

I also noticed they are showing Full Draw which would be handy since I would have to miss a track meet to watch it in Mt Vernon.

I just do it all in two days. Shoot everything but pure elevation on Saturday and then just shoot pure elevation on Sunday and mob home.

They show the FDFT Saturday night along with a bunch of raffle prizes.

If you aren't signed up to compete and just shooting for fun they won't flight you with another group so shoot solo or glob onto others. Almost every one I've been to we've invited singles or doubles to join us. Even ended up with a huntwa guy the first year (scott).

On an up note, without Jerry there we won't have to listen to any GD John Denver coming from the RV lot :chuckle:
