Walla Walla Turkeys?
« on: May 28, 2009, 06:43:43 PM »
I have one tag left this season and am heading to Walla Walla this weekend. Just wondering how the birds down there are doing and if any landowners wouldnt mind me stopping by and taking care of a pesky tom? I hate to ask in the forum, but my time is very limited there and I have to sneak away while the wife and kid are still asleep just to go. Thanks!

No problem.  Feel free to stop by, ask for a honey hole, and then leave anytime you want...  I'm sure someone would just love to help out a complete stranger on the internet.  (By the way, you might get some nice people on here to help you out, but don't have an attitude if someone doesn't jump at the chance to draw a map for you to a turkey.)   :sas:

What a nice way of saying you are not going to help him, and that he should probably have more than 2 posts before he asks questions like that. I will give you an A+ for being politically correct!!!   ;) ;)

Sorry bout all that, I was in a rush on Friday and saw that 60 people had viewed my post and no one could even point me in the right direction. I wasnt looking for anyone to give me their honey hole, all I wanted was a chance to use up my tag before the season closed.
I am from Walla Walla originally, but I am on the west side of the state at the moment getting medically discharged from the Army following an incident last year in Iraq where I almost died. I dont get back home much, so I was unable to do any scouting over there at all in advance. I was only looking for some help.

Did you read any of the previous threads?  Lots of info.  Try the Tucannon Area next time.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

Will do. I am required to be out of the Army by the end of August, plus I will be taking a bunch of terminal leave so I will be scouting like mad this fall.

I never hunted that area for turkeys, so even though I have visited the thread, I just couldn't offer any good advise to you. However, Yelp is right .... there are numerous threads under this subject that have the info you requested ... and I'm sure that if you mentioned your service to our country was one reason you haven't been able to scout as necessary, you probably would have been adopted by a few million turkey and non-turkey hunters (note: I am a civilian employee at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton).   :twocents:

Thanks for the advice, I dont usually like hanging my laundry out for everyone to see. Never filled my tag, but fall season is right around the corner with a larger variety of critters available to hunt. Thanks to all who responded with useful information. See you all in the woods.
