The only bad thing about it is that it was collared. I think we only had a couple collared Wolves left in kittitas valley. If the game department can’t track them we don’t have any wolves is there new philosophy.

Yeah that does kind of suck, but a dead wolf is a definite win!

Looks to be missing a leg?

It's busted and folded up over the shoulder.
Didn't wdfw just report that there were no wolves left in the Teanaway? I thought I read that the last collared one left a while back.  :dunno:

Ya they have been trying to convince everyone there’s no wolves left in kittitas county. There’s a breeding pair in the Naneum basin and offspring that run between teanaway and colockum along the power lines.

I think there’s a lot more collared wolves in this state than they let on, seems like every other one or so we see has a collar and they are not the same wolf. This is in the north Methow. Same with cougars, we’ve seen 6 since approximately the first of May, 3 of those had collars, two fellas that we got to know killed two cats, one last year during deer season, one the year before, both collared. These predators are getting all “the love” from WDFW. Lots of studies going on, lots of money being spent, we’ve talked with some of the school kids doing work, most are pretty candid, yep, not herd research, mostly all have to do with wolves and cougars. A buddy of mine jokingly said “ we can tell you there’s a whole bunch of both and numbers are growing”. Response, (something to the effect) , we’ll, there’s some but a lot of folks can’t tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote and some can’t tell the difference between a cougar and a small deer moving through the brush. We replied, “well, we can” and we’re seeing more and more, every year. “Sorry to hear that, since your hunters”. That was a weird response imo, back in my day the response was, “if you see a bear, coyote or a cougar, kill it” then the game guy would lecture us on the evils of predators on the Methow herd.

Going back to antiquity, wolves have been useful to the extent that they keep certain animal populations in check (their only useful contribution to balancing Nature)........but now we have that other predatory species.....HUNTERS......who pay fees for the privilege........wolves gotta go.
