Problem racoon
« on: May 15, 2023, 04:26:16 PM »
A friend of mine has a problem with a mother racoon and her kits.  What's the best way to take care of them?  This is within Seattle city limits.

Shoot it in the forehead with a 1300 fps pellet gun, kills them instantly.  Or live trap it and deal with it.

Do you have a bolt action/pump .22 rifle? Use CCI Subsonic .22 shorts (won't cycle a semi-auto which are usually .22 LR anyway)).......minimal sound. Perfect for urban hunting. Just shoot it and then chicken fry it.

Moth balls and pneumonia where they’re nested at and put some crappy music loud
She will have them moved in a short period of time

Okay, he's going with ammonia and Molly Hatchet.  He's also going to shine a spot light on the nest tonight.

Last raccoons I knew were into Molly Hatchett. I suggest Taylor Swift just to make sure.

I'm assuming they are nesting in her attic, right? Hang one of those auto shop lights in the attic to deny them the security of darkness and rest.

The coon family has moved on, someone else's problem now.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
