Wouldn’t ya know it…. Got this nice Kudu not long after an extremely, extremely too close encounter stalking Cape buffalo in thick coverage. Even with a 416, I felt like the hunted.
Well I hope that's not the end of the story telling?!? Awesome.looking animals. I'm finding a desire to go to Africa growing in me. Looks like the rifle.is doing well. Congrats

CongratsThats the problem with Africa... always unfinished business and a need to return...As soon as I get home, Ill start saving for another trip. I still want a BIG Buffalo, but also a warthog (saw a monster, but he never stopped running) and a sable. The concession we ended up hunting isn’t the one we signed up for. Many of Zambias concessions are a mess right now, and tied up in court. Hopefully that gets straightened out sooner than later. But you’re right, Africa, and especially wild Africa, hooks a person.

Looks like the rifle.is doing well. CongratsIf you go, take tough bullets. Most of these animals are easily as tough as our elk. I shot the zebra at about 100 yards perfectly broadside, and the 200gr Accubond didn’t reach the opposite skin. I only made 1 suspect shot, and that was the waterbuck that took a step as I was squeezing the trigger. Hit him about 1ft back of the shoulder, just barely getting the lungs. I wasn’t even sure I had hit him. That bullet passed through, and so did the Puku, which is maybe just a little bigger than our pronghorn. The Buffalo took 3 400gr TSX’s from a 416 Rigby. This is what the Kudu did to my Accubond at 160 yards.
