Positive thinking on the draws
« on: May 24, 2023, 05:34:45 PM »
So as I finish up special draws for the family , I can’t help but get to day dreaming about someone , anyone in the family drawing any tag seams anymore any tag is a huge deal . At least to our family it is . How does everyone else think about it ??? As we have lost a lot of tags in last ten years . Do you still get the excitement of the draw and wait or do u just not care?? I know our state is a mess I know that I’m asking if people still get pumped up for it all

Best of luck to all especially the youth !!!!

I used to get crazy excited, then major depressed.  With sooo many points in quality elk, bull elk and not drawing in 27 years, I don’t expect anything anymore, not quite as depressing. Have a multi season elk in my pocket this year, so either way, I’m hunting bulls. Good luck all, you’re gonna need it.

When I submitted I must admit, I wasn't feeling very optimistic. However, now that we are at the deadline I can't help but day dream a bit too! I have drawn a few tags over the years in archery and ML categories which is why I wasn't feeling optimistic. I ghosted buck/bull categories and have low points in quality for now. The only apps I have good point totals in are OIL and 2nd deer. Still gonna dream a bit til mid June!

Excited for my son's youth opportunities. Has only 4 pts but some good units to apply for and better than my odds.  I always get excited with my 24 quality deer, and have been lucky with 2 quality elk tags.  There is no question this state is garbage but there is still always that chance.

I think multi elk it one of the best opportunities we have that possible !

The odds of Taylor Swift writing a song about me are about as good as my odds of drawing anything desirable in this state, esp. seeing you dudes with 10x as many points not having drawn.  :chuckle: I just started hunting a couple of years ago so have minimal points. I'll probably buy a few more raffle tickets after seeing "not selected" to keep hope alive a little longer. You never know, someone's going to get lucky and it just might be me.

It's hard to get very excited about the draw, but I'm really excited for bear season. I'm already selected for that.  ;)

Ya, the odds aren't stellar to pull a good permit.  But..... there's always a chance

Looking at the numbers it's hard to get excited. They still got a bunch of app$$ from me though.

Don’t do that we do wait an awful long time for results and we know they always have a long call back list

I used to get really excited and daydream about the possibilities. Not so much the last few years. This year I have renewed enthusiasm but it’s for my kiddo. This is the first year she will be hunting. She has tagged along for the last few years but this season will be the real deal.

I have a record low number of applications submitted this year. Only 5 for myself, and 2 for my 17 year old daughter. I did have only 4 applications but last minute I bought and submitted one in the antlerless elk category. I feel like my odds of drawing a moose permit is as good as anything else. 27 points should help a little. Might bring my odds up to 1 in 50? Who knows. Good luck everyone.

Having drawn a couple awesome tags I still fill like it’s hopeless.

But who knows… 1 oil in my family in the last 17 years… it would be cool to see another one drawn.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.
