Magview Digiscoping adaptor

Anyone using these yet? They sure look easy to use, and love the idea of something that is universal instead of phone specific.

I've been using one on my spotting scope and like it a lot. The only complaint that I have is the piece that get attached to the objective does not seem super secure.

I have one on a Kowa and originally liked it, but have since had a lot of problems with the adapter coming loose in the field. I cranked it down at home after and it still came loose on the next trip. I have the correct adjustment rings in it, maybe I should blue loctite the set screw. But I'm also not a huge fan of having to align the camera lens every time I attach the phone. I'll probably sell it and get the Ollin.

Do you mean the Ocular lens?

Yeah ocular lens. The ring shims they give you depending on what its mounting to seem to lack IMO.

The Ollin is a better system  :twocents:

Yeah, seems like that being a smooth metal piece isn't ideal. If the shims were rubber coated it might provide a more secure grip.

Agree with Karl, I think the Ollin is a better system. Tons of positive reviews on it. Here's a good thread comparing the two.

Good feedback, I'll have to take a look at the Ollin.

I've been "running" the Magview on 15's and a 20-60 spotter.

Works great when a person is planning to really sit and glass.
When hunting though I find it an extra step while the critters are taking extra breaths or steps themselves.

If it's worthy of film it's worthy of me moving closer.
Immediately.

I guess this is what appealed to me about it. If I wanted to film a shot or something along those lines, since I hunt solo most of the time, I could just click it on and get to shooting. I know thats not how it really goes in the field though.

Yep. Been using one since day 1 and have no desire to explore other options at this point.
