Chesapeake/ lab mix looking for a good home
« on: May 06, 2009, 07:04:50 PM »
While at work on Monday April 27 I found a dog running up the DNR 5 road above Elbe, this is the blue gate on the left as you come into Elbe.  I was heading down the road and she was heading up and then turned around and followed me for 4 miles, almost to the highway.  Not wanting her to get hit by a car I put her in the back of my truck.  There was no one around the 5 road that morning and no one in Elbe or Mineral recognizes the dog.  It was the Monday after opening of fishing so I checked the campgrounds and bars and nothing.  We have signs up in the area and havn't heard anything.  The dog is chipped but the registered number is a 509 number and the guy who answered says he has only had that number for a short time and its not his dog.  She's a good dog, chesapeake and black lab mix.  The vet says she is a little over a year old.  She is house broke and gets along with other dogs well.  She knows the usual commands and has lots of energy.  Not sure if someone got her for hunting and she didn't work out so they dumped her, or what her story is, it is fairly common for people to dump dogs in that area.  If any of you know of someone missing a similar dog or any of you would possibly like to have her for your new dog let me know.  The PDF picture is attached. Please do not call the number on the flyer just respond or send me a PM, thanks.

Sorry to hijack the thread (hope the dog finds a good home though)

Tony, how are the mosquitos in Morton so far? Know they were horrible last summer!
