Idaho wolf hunt
« on: September 16, 2023, 07:01:07 AM »
I picked up a wolf tag this year. Anyone hunted Idaho for wolf? Got a few places mapped out, just curious if anyone’s had luck hearing them or tagging one.

Hunted deer there for 5 years, never seen one, but have heard them in the distance.  We always say we're going to take a day and call for them and it never ends up happening because we're busy trying to kill our deer.  Good luck.

Gets better in the Novemberish time frame to have chances of seeing one. Most sign I’ve seen this year has been during my trips into the Selway this spring.

Every time I mention it to my wife, about going to Idaho to hunt wolves.
She says,let's just move there.
So in tell I move, she won't let me go there to hunt.
It looks awesome.👍

Ive hunted over there around 15 years and ive seen one. Lots of tracks though. I know the guys that do good hunt them late winter and use a snowmobile to cut pack tracks and hunt from there…

A friend of mine shot one by priest lake a few years back. I was that same area for deer the year prior, could hear them howling every other night up different drainages. If you go Be sure to sign up to f4wm... foundation for wildlife management. You can get a check cut to you if you shoot a wolf as a member. Private organizations, ranchers, and I believe even idfg all pitch in for the cause. Heck just sign up anyways. Good people with a great cause
