The beginning of the end to Hunting and Fishing in WA
« on: June 13, 2023, 11:32:11 AM »
Received the following from the RMEF regarding new legislation in WA about how the future looks for hunting and fishing in WA.

This is the draft Policy:

"WDFW actions and decisions shall be based on objective, sciencebased knowledge"

So why did they take the spring bear season away????

This isnt the beginning of the end. The beginning started quite some time ago and will continue until hunting has been abolished in this state (and it will eventually be abolished mark my word on that.  Not next year but in 20-50 years it will be abolished).  In the next 5-10 years you will be voting on bans of all hunting and trapping in this state.

That RMEF link is cool - there's a link there for sending an auto-populated comment to the commission that makes it super easy.

The commission thinks there kings at the round table or something.
Old inslee set it up that way.
Pack the court.
Now all these nature ,non hunting freaks go to the meeting.
Give them little snacks,drinks,donuts.
The commission just throws us under the bus for snack time.
Crazy times we live in.
Calling it out as I see it.
Tell me I'm wrong.

I don't see how you can read those seven principles and not add them all up to the end of recreational hunting and fishing as we know it.  Maybe you can shoot a duck or fish for a stocker trout, but it's not going to look anything like it even does now.

Of course, this assumes future governors don't throw it out, but the current trajectory is horrible.

I guarantee they're eventually going to go with "science" that says there are no excess deer and elk for us to harvest, because they are a major part of the wolves, bears, and cougar's diet.

I guess then we'll have to hunt and fish like the early civilizations did it, just for food to survive.  The government just won't be making any money off of us for it at that point.

I sent in the canned response via RMEF. Thanks for the link.

I put a lot of effort into getting people to speak up about Spring Bear season last year. After all that, and all the organizations input (HOWL, INWWC etc.) and it still failing - its very demoralizing that the hits just keep coming.

We’re seeing it happen right now, closing the rivers to fishing in boats then just closing them all together, for no reason.. horrible times

:yeah:
Yep either that’s gonna happen or people are going to be calling Fish and game constantly to come pick up their “property”, since it’s obviously not a resource anymore, that had to be killed attacking their pets and children. Crops will be destroyed, or our tax dollars will be paid to A professional to cull these animals and put them in the dump, and the others that don’t die from disease will end up hit on the side of the road. These crazy animal rights activist are just like that little girl who just loves her stuffed animal so much she just hugs it and squeezes it so tight it’s head pops right off. They’re gonna love our animals right into extinction  :bash: :bash:
I sure hope some of these commission members have to first hand deal with some of the negative outcomes if this decision goes through. Wouldn’t ever wish anybody being attacked by a bear cougar or wolf but if somebody were to I would much rather it be somebody who made the decision to let them run rampant

Just look at our hunting opportunities in the last 5-7 years go in the toilet. Just look at the special permit quota cuts in the last 5-7 years. It is going down hill quickly like a snowball rolling down a steep hill and will do nothing but get bigger and gain more momentum.  Look at spring bear. Spring bear is just an early example of what is going to happen to the rest of it. Doesn’t matter what the true science says. They will twist it to fit their narrative.  I’m not positive, but I think it’s less than 5% of Washington residents actually hunt. We will have no say in the matter. You might think I’m a pessimist or conspiracy theory kind of guy but I’m not. It’s just what is going to happen. Just look how they have made people being a member of NRA look. Like terrorists and evil. Sorry to say, there isn’t that much you can do about it either. Look at all the effort put on folks fighting for spring bear. We had the facts and the science on our side and how did we fare?

And can't hike the mountains because that will disrupt the Grizzly Bears too!

These people care nothing about conservation. They care about control and they're exercising it every chance they get.
