We just sold 1/4’s of beef, going rate is $3.50 per lb hanging weight, plus cut and wrap/slaughter fee. Price on the hoof at the sale barns are INCREDIBLE right now, up to 2.60-2.80 per pound!!! I remember a couple of years ago when good beef calves were 1.20 per pound on the hoof and that was considered high!!

Not on the west side, just check the auction report from today, highest paid was $1.60/lb, and thats higher than normal.

I would find a new sales barn if I was you and you were trying to sale..... $1.60 is low right now for feeder calves.

What auction report are you looking at? At Chehalis, 5 weights your getting $2 a lb. Better ones are fetching close to $2.50 a lb.

Yes Westside.  Feedlot @ $3lb is true.  Beef is gonna be $$ at stores for a bit.  Like it wasnt already.  We have help (friend) with farm raised steer so that is still best way to go if ya can swing it.  After all cost I average $4.25lb in freezer.  Raised/fed what I want grain finish grass fed Angus beef.
MAGA!  Again..

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
