I was pretty happy with the draw results before they took the lunch break yesterday. I really enjoy the Whidbey second doe tag and it seems like these last few years it is no longer a guarantee. The feeling of packing a shotgun through tight brush and passing on bucks while hoping nobody shoots at you is an intense feeling after chasing alpine mule deer. Top it off with my first ever “bull elk” tag and I was set for the season.

Like everyone else of rational mind I knew my 19 points didn’t really mean much for OIL tags and my choices for “quality tags” were similar. I would like to thank the WDFW for their hard work on the draws this year. You have proven yourself to run a wonderful program and after putting in a fair amount of effort on both of our ends, rewarded my loyalty to the draw system.

:yike: good grief that is quite the lineup!!

Selkirk bull moose tag for me.  I was excited when I saw it, but instantly felt a little overwhelmed as well!

Half the tags in the book are basically once in a lifetime. Good luck to everyone that drew.

I’ll be your SOB  :chuckle: more then excited to still see early huckleberry moose on my phone screen can’t wait until the actual tag is in my hand,  it’s been great reading everyone’s success stories on here over the years and dreaming of the year it may become a reality and I’m still in disbelief.  I’ve spent a lot of years hunting whitetail and turkeys in the huckleberry primarily in the northern half reservations are booked for scouting to start diving in deeper and learn the unit for moose.  Best of luck to the other tag holders.

Are you sure you hunted huckleberry.
The river and reservation is the border of the unit to the west.
The north half reservation is in 101.
There is no booking to start scouting.
Good luck .
