Mission modern bull tag
« on: June 14, 2023, 07:19:24 PM »
Got lucky and pulled one of the two modern any bull tags for mission.  Excited for a good adventure, a die hard muley hunter so a little change will be nice.  Can be in the unit in a couple minutes and plan to put some miles on the dual sport getting to know the lay of the land.  Any insight or tips is always welcomed, figure im done with putting in for bull elk after 20 years waiting for a tag, so going to enjoy this one.

Congrats man. I haven’t hunted the mission but the colockum right next door is similar. Find them scouting during the muzzy season start in those same areas opening day of modern. They will still bugle a bit very early morning and after dark for a bit. Fingers crossed you can smoke a couple nice sixes.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

In my opinion, you got one of the best tags in the state.  Access can be a little challenging in some areas, not a ton of roads....which is why it is such a special elk area.  You should do this tag justice.

Ive always liked the country/terrain of mission, should be even better getting to chase bulls.  Do my best to tip a good one over.  Going to be a fun hunt to have my dad along again.

End of Pole flats road in the stemilt is a hell of a starting point. Beehive holds some great bulls.

Wow congratulations.  You get to hunt 5 days before the general opener.  Should be an great hunt for you.  Hopefully you'll be able to get up in there and get the lay of the land before your hunt
