Parker, Anderson and Linville are solid. Our hope is to reach Myers and Lemkuhl and stop this from being adopted.

Lemkuhl imho is a lost cause voting en bloc with the antis, in league with Washington Wildlife First. he’s garbage.

Just wrote a nasty gram to commission about this rotten policy and wondering if it has any affect on my draw status?  I guess they already have my name on a list from previous letters.

Hopefully this meeting is well attended.

Washington Wildlife First is going to pack that meeting with their base

I could whine, but instead I'll be taking the day off to go to the meeting.  Is anyone else going?

We could wildly speculate about the army of WWF who will show up or go find out for ourselves.

I just looked up their upcoming events page and 0 people have RSVP's for upcoming events.  Maybe their support isn't as strong as some folks are making it out to be...

I'll try to go on Friday. Long drive but worth it.

Tribes are against this policy change as well

I guess I am missing the big changes in this policy.

:chuckle: How did I know that if I kept scrolling, eventually I would find one of the huntwa libs supporting it, or questioning why sportsman would be against it? :twocents:

I’m quite sure the rest of the left peanut gallery will chime in soon as well!
I’m not sure why you are calling me a “lib”, or bringing your political disputes with other posters into this?  :dunno:

Let me explain it to you.  While people are busy fighting this, we will be losing hunting and fishing opportunities somewhere else.  It’s called sleight of hand.  When this passes people will be tired of fighting a losing battle and that’s when the antis pounce.  The coffers will be empty to fight because people are pretending they are suing the Governor and fighting feel good pointless legislation.  I know that’s probably over your head, or you don’t care because you are a closet dem.

If you can't be there, at least send an email.  Only takes a few seconds.

I'm attempting to get the time off right now.. frustrating that the anti's manage to have a heavy presence at these meetings but hunters can't even organize a decent turnout when it's our heritage and way of life going down the crapper

Sent in my Howl & Commission emails along with the draft policy comments.  Encourage others to do the same.

Certainly need to stop the infighting and I'll be first to apologies making a "left" or "liberal" slighted comment on an earlier post in this thread.  This shouldn't be about political parties but hunters and those that support hunting and its existing management model vs. those that do not (anti's).

Nice to hear that WWF does not have great attendance planned yet but wouldn't be surprised if they do turn out.  We certainly should show up in high numbers either way.  I have that Friday off but will try to get Thursday as well and be in attendance.

Was great to read the NWSportsmanmag article but saddened to hear Thornburg is not longer serving, didn't realize she'd been ousted back in March.  I'd heard of some new appointments but didn't realize she was replaced; was an unsuspecting voice and great asset for us sportsman.

I sent a couple of HOWLS in this AM as well.

We need to support those that are trying to take legal actions against these hypocritical ideologies. There’s 8 billion people on this planet. Consumptive conservation AKA North American Model of Wildlife Conservation is THE only way this will work moving forward.

They should be embracing the North American Model not renouncing it. The rest of the modern world is envious of the model yet these anti’s on the Wildlife Commission want to abolish it out of lack of education and political stances.

If you can't make it Thursday, you can still sign in for public testimony during the open comment period on Friday or any day for that matter. I think it would carry a lot of weight if they were still hearing from hunters every day of the Meeting.

Kim is on the list of speakers during the public comment period for the draft policy.  She has been very vocal about her opposition of the new policy being brought forth by the antis on the commission.  Hopefully her comments during the meeting will carry some weight to it. :)

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset
