2023 incentive tags
« on: June 07, 2023, 12:30:36 PM »
Have not heard anyone talk about receiving the incentive tags this year. Anyone on here one of the lucky few? I always like to hear about these tags. I got a call from wdfw in April and got all excited that I might be one of the lucky winners. Nope,  they were just calling to get my small game hunting reports  :bash:

The hunter ed instructor incentive permits were finalized a couple of weeks ago.  I was able to pick a Region 5 any deer permit.  I wonder how many incentive programs are out there?!  Instructor, TAHD reporting, General harvest reporting... any others?
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

Doing a quick search showed some hits including people posting past threads saying they got informed of them in mid-June, so there's still a shot.  :dunno:

My ol' man was lucky enough to be selected for one of the deer incentive tags.  He'd heard about it via e-mail and phone sometime in April and his letter showed up first week in June.

He's the only one I've heard of but haven't asked around much.

I think this is a better long term incentive then the $10 penalty.  :twocents:

This is different then the master hunter incentive tags.  Besides it and the general reporting I don't know how many programs they have going (but would be nice to know).

I didn't even know the early reporting incentive permit existed or how rare they were until discussing with buddies this past weekend.  Per the pamphlet: "The nine special permits include two any elk permits for western Washington, two any elk permits for eastern Washington, and five statewide any deer permits."

Anyway, if anyone has some gouge to pass on happy to listen.  My dad is 73 so access and getting around isn't what it used to be for him but hoping we can put him on a masher buck sometime this year.

We've always hunting in the NW corner so looking for intel outside the 407/418/437 GMU's.  Starting to review quality buck special permit areas and results for the last few years in addition to Gohunt filtered results.  If anyone has any other suggestions or unit input I'm open ears.
