Recurve arrow selection help...

Finally broke down and bought my first recurve bow.  Went with a Martin Jaguar 45lb @ 28".  Got set up with some arrows at the shop and have started shooting quite a bit.  Looking to purchase more arrows but want to make sure I'm getting the correct spine.  The shop set me up with a pretty light spined arrow 550, but all the charts I look at are saying I need a 300-400 spine arrow.   My draw length is 29.5 -30 inches on my compound bow and my arrow length with the recurve is 29.5".  I plan on shooting 125 grain broadheads. 

So....for the folks that shoot traditional, how do you determine your spine??  The charts are all over the board.  I will say that they shop that set me up is very knowledgeable and the worker is a die hard traditionalist. 

What arrows do you like, carbon, aluminum, wood....

What brand arrow??

Gold tip Traditional arrows(carbon).  I got lucky with help from the shop.  I think I started with six then went up or down by the way it was shooting.  Then once locked in bought a couple dozen.  Then haven’t changed.  I think my set up is under weight, but results have been good so….
Broad heads are magnus stingers two blade.  125s (I think)

I've never shot any carbon arrows. Started out with some aluminum Back in the early 80's and turned to cedar shortly thereafter.  For years I made my own douglas fir shafts but now I purchase the douglas fir from Surewood Shafts. The fir seems to be slightly tougher and heavier than the cedar and spruce shafts IMHO. 

Just a quick look at my charts says you'd want to have a 60-65 spined arrow with a 125 gr point (that's with a 29" draw).   That's just what the chart says. Most modern recurves and hybrid longbows that are center cut in the risers tend to shoot heavier spines.
