Big Bear dead on I-5
« on: June 23, 2023, 09:48:48 AM »
Very large bear dead on I-5 near Maytown in the northbound lane this morning. I reported it to the local game warden he asked me to report it to dispatch. They have already heard about it but instructed me that if I wanted it removed I would have to call the department of transportation. What a shame the bear looked to be well over 300 pounds

I went by it at 2:45am on my way to work and flares were still burning from whoever hit it. Couldn’t believe how big it looked

I drove by around 6:30 and at first glance I thought it was a black tarp wadded up, then quickly realized it was a big bear. Wonder if wsp took any photos, definitely looked too be in that 300lb range. I know we got a over abundance of bears but it's always a shame to see them go that way. I hope whomever hit it is ok.
