Possibles Bag Recommendations
« on: August 31, 2023, 03:18:57 PM »
I'm looking for a new possibles bag for muzzleloader season. What are some good brands?

Thanks

If you know anyone that does leatherwork, get one custom made.  My father in law made mine and it is amazing.   That bag will be handed down for generations.  He is a member on here so if you see this, know how much I love it.

THATS AWESOME!

I picked up whatever one happened to be on a Bi-mart shelf with little thought. It serves its purpose.  This however is next level cool

I went with a Kifaru The Rogan day pack/fanny pack.  I used it last year in Illinois on my whitetail hunt and will be running it this year on my Exo waist belt.  Has so storage pockets and organization options that I like.

I usually just put a few civil war style paper cartridges in my pocket.  I’ve never needed anything more than that.

depends on just what all your wanting to carry for your possibles. are you shooting traditional or inline   muzzleloader. then just how did you want to wear you possibles bag. hunting I normally just carry a couple speed loaders and nipple wrench and my capper .

I'm doing traditional and only plan on carrying a couple of reloads, a short start, and nipple wrench.

An overlooked source of backpacks is the used market. FB Marketplace is crawling with them for extremely cheap. I bought an REI frame pack for $10 and there's always more on there. For every kifaru or exo purchased, another bag is free to be used by someone else.

What kind of hunting are you going to be doing?  We leave the truck in the dark and sometimes don't come back till it is dark.  When this is the case, I want enough stuff in my possibles bag to manage any problem.  I also want enough reloads that I don't have to worry if one opens up in my pocket or bag.  I have seen people dump their powder charge on the ground during a panic, while trying to get a second shot lined up.

If you are close to your truck or on a couple hour venture.....then a couple reloads may be all you need.  It sure would suck to need something and not have it...just to ruin the rest of that hunt.

Combat engineer demo bag. Indestructible and easily water repellant for a whole day.
