I get lucky now and then. I can pull a rabbit out of my hat now and then.

I ordered that one because I might be an idiot and not be able to figure out how to get the fan blade off of the existing motor. This one comes with new fan blades too.

My GMG has a 12v power supply inline with the cord.  Some folks have mounted this up in the control box making it look like the grill is powered 120v.  Is this the case with yours or is it really a 120v fan motor?
Mine is a 110v.

I think the Davy Crocketts are 12v with transformer. You can buy those fans all over the place.

What about something like this.
It goes to a wood stove.

Blaze King Convection Axial Fan Motor Blower Z7005 https://a.co/d/6dfaFHp

They have other fans that go to wood stoves on Amazon.

Josh, I have a Recteq and it smokes quite a bit on initial start up but when it’s up to temp it does not smoke much at all! If you open lid for extended time it will smoke while getting back up to temp and as the auger drops new pellets! I had a Traeger for 11 years and loved it, but this Recteq is Nice!

Yep. If the smoke doesn’t bother my wife, a 590 is in the plan. Might use this one till it dies though. We’ll see.

I want less smoke. I’m not sure it makes sense saying that out loud. It’s the only way I’ll get to buy a nice new recteq
:chuckle:

So I am going to ask a stupid question.  But you are trying to start a wood fire from  pellets. Have you ever had any luck starting a wood fire with out some kind of smoke.

I’m sure there will be smoke. I’ve only had a stick burner smoker which billows smoke. My wife is asthmatic. She’s not a fan of the smoke. I understand these higher end pellet smokers burn very efficiently to the point the smoke is significantly less. She loves the smoked food. The hope is she isn’t as bothered by the hopefully less smoke.

Keep in mind that quality pellets tend to smoke less. The better pellets have less filler (floor sweepings)

Got the fan motor Ridgeratt steered me to. Installed it today. Works like a champ. Have some chicken on it right now. We’ll see how it works.

Thanks to the electrician for helping the dummy out and helping him to think outside the box.

I'm Glad that you were able to get it working. But having watched the forum I have found that I really don't have anything beneficial to bring to the table. So I don't think I will be offering any more electrical suggestions.

May you all find the answers you need. Just remember Google is your friend.

Thanks. I’ll get some. And I think this unit is definitely more than a few years old.
I’ll get it out of the garage later and post a few pics. It’s just got a lot of baked on caked on crud and some rust on the outside.

That caked on crud.....on the grill bars...... is flavor! dont break it off. My treager is 15+ years old, never cleaned the grates. lol

After 15 years the grates would be a griddle with the way I cook stuff.🤣
