He says the quiet part out loud. The preservationists know they cannot overcome the legal mandate.

The preservationists fail to mention

1) habitat loss due to population growth which forever changes the land by land and infrastructure development
2) Agrarian monoculture farming which is required to feed humans
3) Pesticide use which is required to feed humans or protect consumptive crops (timber etc)
4) Invasive species (plants, insects and animals which have forever crowded out native species)
5) Roads, Dams, bridges, and any other manmade changes to the landscape which provide obstacles forever changing those habitats
6) Transportation (cars, busses, boats, ferries, trains, and airplanes) which kill birds, mammals, insects

If a preservationist really wants to roll up the shirtsleeves they may want to really look at the big picture.  Not just under the lens of eliminating highly regulated hunting and disguising anti-hunting.  This is spitting in the ocean and hoping we can fix what has already been changed. Hypocrites and myopic Pollyannas...

(mind you I am not against any of the stuff above... we humans are an introduced species to this landscape.  It is childish to think we can exist without having an impact wherever we go.)

Doesn't the sale of hunting/fishing licenses and tax on guns and ammo pretty much pay for "wildlife management"? Wildlife doesn't just exist for hunters and fishermen.......also there for people who wish to view and photograph....buuuuuut, the hunters and fishermen pretty much are the ones paying for it. Maybe a one year boycott on buying products that contribute to wildlife programs......licenses, guns, ammo.......would get their attention.

With respect to balancing nature via the presence of predators........you don't need to introduce or reintroduce them, they are already there upon the landscape.......they are called hunters......and they actually help pay for the programs that benefit wildlife. I dunno.....another unsolvable problem.

Are the commissioners required to use the data and the information that is provided by the people who work for fish and game and not use their personal feelings as per regulations and bylaws set forth by government?   If they are not doing so then every time they do not use the information and data then a SLAP law suit should be filed against them.  Do this and win and collect after awhile someone will get tired of paying for these payouts and get rid of these losers. Hit them where it hurts, the pocket book! Yes it will cost to do this but it is costing us already with what they are doing..

They have made it abundantly clear that it does not matter where the money is coming from.  Only that it "feels" like we need to go a different direction and exclude from the decision making the minority of folks this greatly impacts in favor of a nebulous and ill defined end game utopia which only exists in a Disney cartoon.

Given that mindset......an extended boycott of revenue generating purchases is the only thing that will possibly work. Not that the outdoor community has that level of discipline to implement a plan. And EVERY hunter should just use the guns/ammo that he already possesses and go hunt (stick to the established seasons/rules) without bothering to buy a license/tags. Treat yourself to a free Quality Tag.......whatever. They play by no or nonsense rules....so should we.

Because the WDFW and the Commision are 2 different things.... I don't believe most at the WDFW believe what the Commision is doing, they just can't say it.
 I think that's part of the problem, people can't separate the two.  I do see a future, and probably not to far away, that biologists become biologists to push an anti-agenda.
