Now is the time for hunters to get involved!
« on: July 16, 2023, 04:18:00 PM »
Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well. Fall Bear is just around the corner!! I wanted to come on here and share a podcast that I was on a while back. First off, a huge thank you Andy Elliott for letting me come on the podcast. This was an amazing episode where we discussed the WDFW June commission meeting and what needs to happen next. We were joined by Mike Herz, Charles Whitwam the founder of HOWL for Wildlife and Douglas Boze, President of the newly formed Washington Chapter of The American Bear Foundation.

While the commission meeting was held in Seattle and had a anti-hunter turnout it wasn't as big as they thought it was gonna be. This meeting was one of the most impactful and eventful in a long time. I highly recommend everyone watches the recording of the meeting. Now is the time to be getting involved. Hunters showed up big time to this meeting. I and several others have gotten hunters together to get involved and continue advocating for hunting in Washington. We are not giving up on this state and its time for more people to get involved. The commission has noticed the number of hunters speaking up. Washington Wildlife First has even said that they are afraid of how impactful HOWL is.

I know so many people are nervous when it comes to getting involved or feel that it won't make a difference but it does. People see it. WDFW staff work so hard and do amazing work, they do care about your input. The sleeping giant has not been awakened yet, we still need more people to get involved. Hopefully, this podcast can help inspire some. I'm really proud of the folks who have gotten involved and I'm happy to have made friends from this. If anyone is interested in getting involved or want to learn more please don't be afraid to reach out. We're just getting started and we won't go quietly into the night. You can listen to the podcast on any podcast platform available. Here are some links for the commission meeting.

Good listen.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
