Time for a new battery what are you running

My truck battery is almost 5 years old and I want to change it out before it’s an issue. What is the go to battery. I used to buy Interstate but have heard it’s not as good as it used to be. Let me know what you are using both good and bad experiences.

DieHard Platinum AGM. Can't tell you much other than it's worked well the month I've had it. Read good reviews though.

The batteries in all my vehicles are over ten years old and running strong. Why would you change one after five years?

It’s the factory battery that came in a Toyota Tacoma and from what I have read the lifespan is 4 to 6 years. I only drive it a couple of times per month so it sits a lot until hunting season. Bear is just around the corner so I would rather replace now so it doesn’t affect a hunting trip or something this fall or winter.

AutoZone and several other auto parts stores will test your battery for free while it's still in your truck. Probably worth it before buying a new one.

Just buy your new battery at Costco.
They have very high quality Batteries with good warranties.
Buy any where else and your just shelling out extra dough.
There are only about 3 manufactures in the US, and all sell
many different labels.
At 5 years old you are being very proactive!
They tend to die at the worst time.

Several years ago I read a review that had Wal Mart Everstart Maxx batteries rated as one of the best conventional batteries. Ive been running them in everything I have,. 5 batteries total and have had really good luck with them. Oops. Make that 7. Counting the one in my boat and 2 in my trailer. Plus the price is right. I recommend them to everybody that asks, and have had good feedback.

If I wasnt running these batteries I would be running Dekas. Great batteries. The Everstart Maxx are about $40 cheaper tough!

I have a 2014 Tacoma still has the original battery.

Measure it's "resting" voltage and go to a battery life chart to get a feel for where it is in it's life.

I am having problems with the 2023 Interstate in my trailer right now, just swapped it out 10 mins ago for the 2022 Interstate, but they are both the Costco version. Next in is gunna be the 2021 Everstart from Sprawl-mart.

 Wallyworld 12volts have done the best for me as trolling motor power and riding mower starter juice. Ran an Optima $ Gel cell Red top in the 4runner, lasted 8 years. When I rolled that rig and switched the Batt into a V-8 Pontiac that was not driven daily it crapped out within a year.

12 volt anything seems to have less trouble to me the more they are driven, in my humble experiences.

My vote is for Wally's Everstart series, even the lower grades seem to do great. Thats what's in the Powerstroke. Pre-warning for Sticker Shock, Batt's have gone and nearly doubled in price the past couple years. I hear they are using quite a bit of lead over in the Ukraine for some reason. I am having trouble getting an accurate verified total on actual rounds fired per minute, however.
