Cool deer

Cool shots. Make sure you shoot it and post on Facebook, and let us know so we can make some popcorn and watch the show!

I must admit that I have never seen a BT look like that before.  I understand albino, but not "white below the shoulders."  Very odd.

And, out in the middle of the day as well.

Congratulations on the photo capture of a lifetime!

Up close his face and neck was mainly white. Back of the head standard BT brown. The rest very white with a few dapples of shading

That’s supercool!  I saw a couple piebald deer in Yakima canyon about 15 years ago, but they were more “spotted” and not nearly as solid white as that.

Question for the group - if you’re presented with a shot at that deer during the season do you take it or give him a pass?  Personally, I would love to harvest it.

Really neat to see👍 Hey bone, do you remember that small herd of albinos that was cruising the Methow back in the day, if I remember right someone killed a nice 4point out of the bunch and wasn’t he about ready to be run out on a rail or tar and feathered🤣🤣. I remember my dad and I seeing them once, we seen 6 or 7 if I remember right, there was a couple bucks in the bunch, he said “no way in hell are we killing one of those bucks!”🤣🤣🤣

I have a disposable camera photo of solid white 4x4 from over there somewhere! I’ll have to see if I can find it. Probably from 20 years ago

I would go out of my way to harvest an albino or piebald. Im not big on trophies, but awesome color phases I will absolutely take and mount.

Would love to see that picture, 20 years ago pretty much excludes me and my dad.👍 but I’ll bet that there are still some of that herd running around today. It’s really cool if you guys seen one, some were pure white, some piebald. Would love to see a picture.

Great pics Savage! I was up on one of the islands last month and the BT deer are definitely making a solid comeback from the big die off. I also remember when the guy shot the ghost buck. I have considered whether or not I would shoot upon being presented with the opportunity in season. Still undecided, and most likely will let an albino or piebald Blacktail or Mule Deer walk as long he seems healthy. But I would probably take a white Whitetail.

Thanks for sharing. Very cool! Is it in an area you can hunt? I wouldn’t think twice about pulling the trigger if in a legal area.

Not a Bone, but I remember seeing a few mostly white ones, and cross colored does. For a few years in November we saw one nice mule buck that was mostly white excepts on one hind quarter.
Haven't seen them for years now, hell there's hardly any deer left Period.

👍 thanks wolfbait. I think it was back in the 40,s or 50,s. Dad said there was a pretty nice little bunch of albinos that were running around the mid valley. A guy killed one and caught the stink from a lot of people. Within a few years the little herd was gone. Years later my dad and I ran into a group of them in a different part of the valley, there was a nice buck in the bunch, dad said we ain’t shooting that thing, we’ll never make it out alive😆😆 that’s when he told me the story. I haven’t seen one since, I think dad and I ran into that group back in 71 or 72.

shoot nowadays in the valley anything that is dead and visible in a rig, you get the stink eye. Crazy what it has turned into.

We had a few in the mid 70's on my Dad's range, the last ones I saw were in the late 80's.

Methow is now land of lefties, we have been over run, we don't have any town cops anymore, the police chief is now the Sheriff and his guys quit to go to work for him. Great Sheriff by the way. When the city moves to the country, the country isn't country anymore.

I could fill several pages with complaints comparing it to years gone by, but I just don't have that much time to spare.
