I don't mind the redraw process but 2 weeks is WAY too long. A weekly redraw makes more sense but eliminates the chaos of first come first serve. Even better would be the ability to decline immediately on the website to allow even sooner redraw. I know... Far too advanced for a government entity.

Just pay up front - no tag return, no redraw. That simple change would take the tire kickers out of the game and it would be done and done before the special permit process even begins.

Re-draw was a joke.  I was notified around Sept. 20th that I had the option to buy the multi season.  Missed the archery opener and already had an out of state trip planned on the muzzy opener.  All re-draws should take place prior to Sept. 1st.

All the states should be able to implement a system so all tags are done at least a week before the 1st hunting season starts.

Just like clearcut, I received notification in November last year that I could buy a multi-season tag, I didn’t, by then I had already got it done (let’s hope for that kind of luck this year).

That being said, I’m still bitter about it and can’t help but to feel that it’s purposeful.  I wish I DIDN’T feel that way, but it was just SO bad!  :twocents:

The deer should definitely be first
Come first serve.. elk I understand a redraw but they definitely need to move up there times / quicken times between draws so it can be completed before mid August.

You don't have the tag unless you buy it by 7 31.

Multi season is a joke. You are notified in March that you drew! The deadline to purchase should be the deadline to put in for permits in may. That gives them time to actual sell the unsold permits and give others the time to plan some hunts if notified to buy. None of this crap of people being notified in middle of archery or into November! Ridiculous

I think a deadline to buy after the announcement of special hunts would be fine. My hunting plans changed after I put in for MS deer and I intended to not buy it. But then my old man drew a moose tag and I changed my mind again and bought it. The way this state works there is no real way to know the plan until sometime in June.

Your right, That brings up the bigger point that the entire special hunts draws should move to march or april. why wait until late may/june? Lots of guys need to plan time off 6 months out or longer.

The reason they SAY they wait until later which makes sense in theory if I trusted they actually did it, is to compile the harvest numer data and allocate tags for all the units based on objectives. How they come up with their tag numbers when it goes against biological common sense is a whole different thread

I talked to them today. They said they have to get the actual sales data after 7/31 before they decide what they will do with leftovers. Who knows why they can't make that decision two months ago--they said sometime in August--no known date

No new drawings done in the past, just go down the line from original MS drawing.  Would be nice to know your place in line, just in case.
Can I buy it online if I'm out of state hunting when I get notified?
