I don't think there is another drawing...they just go down the list from the first and only drawing...basically if 10,000 people put in for it initially they rank everyone by "drawing" (1st person drawn gets assigned #1, etc etc until everyone has a draw #) and they notified the first 6,500 and only 6,000 bought it, then the next 500 in line (number 6,501-7,001) are notified to go buy the tag within 15 days, then after that, if say 100 tags were not bought then numbers 7,002-7,102 get the notice to go buy the tag, and it continues until all of the tags are sold...so, yes, they should have released the next group notification on Aug 1st, not sure why they wait...

if there was 2k left over multi deer tags and they notified 4k applicants they could buy them Id be willing to bet lots would still be unsold.. the ship has sailed for many at this point in the year to make plans

I called yesterday to ask what the heck was going on...the same license person who emailed me the response I posted a few pages back said 'they' have not decided or told licensing what the plan is yet and it was his best guess that it will be FCFS for applicants who applied and were not selected.

Just got an email

The deer tags will be available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17. There will not be a purchase deadline for deer Multi-season tags; they will remain for sale until the tag limit is reached or when most of the deer hunting seasons are over.

The deer and elk tags can be purchased online or at an authorized license dealer near you. WDFW regional offices and the headquarters office in Olympia are also open for license sales.

Hunters who want to buy a Multi-season tag must have purchased a 2023 Multi-season tag application. We are emailing you today because you or someone associated with this email address entered this year’s drawing.

Glad they went back to over the counter for deer, I will be buying one. Hopefully I can still fill my tag in September but at least I won’t feel like I have as much pressure on me having the other options. And there is still hope for elk, till Tuesday anyways
