Definitely a wolf.  Can’t believe this is your first…..you’re lucky.  I have been getting more and more wolf activity in my areas than all the previous years combined.   :bash: :bash:

The person pic was yesterday.
So I didn't think it was someones pet.

Pretty sad on the pics,2 month soak, only 79 pics.
I did set the cam to 3 photo burst.
Just salt block,it was little crazy the moose just walked by, didn't touch the salt. Mostly just one WT doe hitting the salt.

Then the other cam is about 500 yards the other direction.
It mainly had WT doe and yearling,a different moose.
Two other people, and one spike mule deer buck, that kinda looks sickly or just mangey looking thing.
It did have 500 pics, but it was on three photo burst.
Mostly old doe and yearling.

Not a big buck anywhere,it was crazy.
The only predator on was the wolf on the one cam.
These cams are really close to each other I thought I'd have the same animals on both ,but didn't.

The moose that walked by .
The guy on cam,he didn't mess with it.
It is just out of reach, with a cable. So.....glad he left it alone.

Yes the wolf and moose was there same day.

The worse spot this far for pics this year.

Here is a pic from the cam 500 yards away from the wolf cam.
The only buck on both cams and it looks sickly to me for a mule deer.
Little skinny thin neck and hip bones for days.

They often look like that. Their hair really thins out in the summer and they seem to not weigh as much eather. I've seen a situation just like this and the same buck look totally different then it did in the summer then the winter.

Maybe he'll come back around, mule deer buck.
He won't be legal for a few years ,if the wolf doesn't get him.
,even with all the people traffic I had up there.
I left both cams, one is locked with cable, other is not.
I suspect the cams will get messed with or SD card stolen.
The cam that had the wolf I put on three photo burst, after seeing only 79 pics I figured my card can hold more pics than that.
But yes so far that has been the worse spot for trail cam this year.
Even though it's a new spot ,not really established spot.
There are some old old tree stands ,like old wood ones that would never hold a person anymore.
Someone hunted it back in the day, that's why I put cam there to begin with.

I didn't doubt that it was a wolf.
I was just sharing on HW,And getting confirmation.
I've already pulled both cams from that area.
That mule deer buck was the only buck pic all summer on those two cams. He never returned after those pics I posted.
Went to check it,even more people on cams, and one very small bear. Wolf never showed up again as well.
I did leave the salt block for the few doe and fawn that was using it.
It was a new spot I was trying, besides the wolf pic,it was the most dead zone I have ever put a cam up.
With people constantly on the cam,I figured it was only a matter of time before someone decided to screw with it.
With absolutely no buck pics,80 pics in a two month soak.
Figured it was time to pull them.
The only good result is the salt I did leave. May help the deer,or help another hunter this fall .
