Bearpaw Season - Fall 2023

We had a chance at one of the biggest whitetail seen in probably 20 years on one of the properties, unfortunately the hunter couldn’t find the buck in his scope and that buck was on a mission, just as the hunter found him the buck went after a doe. Fingers crossed that the last group who start hunting tomorrow get him.

We have taken some more young bucks, this is Lawrence’s first deer hunt and he couldn’t be happier, first morning, first kill ever, then a turkey to boot in the afternoon, welcome to the addicted hunters fraternity!

Chuck and Jeff have been hunting with us for probably 20+ years. Chuck always goes for the first legal deer, he mostly wants the meat and Jeff usually holds out for a branch buck, they both usually get their deer. Yesterday Chuck got his buck and this morning Jeff notched his tag, both hunting with Daniel. Great going guys!

Our last deer hunter in Montana, Joseph notched his tag this morning, the first day of his Montana Mule Deer Hunt with guide Derek. Well done gentlemen!

Yeah, all our deer tags have been filled in Montana. We still have two guys hunting today in Colville, they both passed yearlings and are looking for branched bucks.

We have some bison hunters coming in Montana, a moose hunt in Idaho later this week but she says she is only going to shoot a really good bull or else she will pass so she can draw again in the future. We'll start cat hunting soon and we also have some cow elk hunts planned.

Bison hunts in Montana (numerous dates available this winter)

Just taken by my son during our Northern Idaho muzzleloader deer season, this is an excellent hunt open for mule deer or whitetail that I wish we could get more hunters interested in doing.

Could hunt either way or a combination of the two is what I would recommend. Snow conditions could dictate the hunting method, if there is crunchy snow blinds might be the best option.

Doyce got his buck yesterday on our late buck hunt in Washington (top photo) and his partner Adam just got his buck this morning with guide Daniel (bottom photo). One more hunter left in their group, he has passed spikes and holding out for a branch buck also.

Congratulations to your son! This sounds like a dream hunt! Would you say there are as many muzzleloader hunters in Idaho as Washington or less due to better opportunities during modern etc over there?
