And Inslee said moving wolves off the state endangered species list “would be counter to public opinion and would put aside the stakeholder-developed Wolf Conservation and Management Plan.”

• Public opinion should not be relevant to species management. Public opinion on wolves in 1923 was "kill em all". 
• The stakeholders for wolf management are the people living with wolves, who overwhelmingly want them downlisted to say the least.
• The management plan was put aside when we ignored the fact that we exceeded population objectives

I made comment to this at the WDFW Commission meeting on Saturday. We probably could've met population objectives a year or two ago considering all wolf counts are MINIMUM counts (crap they already know ). No one knows how many lone wolves or expanding pairs there are. It should be clear as day that they are no longer "endangered" here.
