Archery point of aim

Just curious how you guys prefer to hold your point of aim on yardages in between your pins like 45 yards. Do you hold your 50 pin low, 40 pin high, just try to hold the space between the pins on your target? When I am shooting in my back yard I try to shoot at a bunch of different yardages and not just 20,30, 40 etc. I can't say I have one way or the other that I seem to be more consistent with.

Honestly, if I can remotely see the two pins and my target and there aren't doubles of anything I send it.   Getting old is awesome in so many ways.

I switched my sight so the top pin floats which is by far better for me.  If it's a quick shot and I can't dial, it better be close.  Other than that I can dial anything over 20.  The only thing I give up is a bit on the far end, but I'm not shooting an elk at 90+ anyway.

For whatever reason, I have never liked using multiple pins. My top green pin is really all I use. I know that for shots up to 25 yards, the green pin will be accurate. I generally don't shoot at animals beyond 35 yards and so the few bucks I killed at that distance (first spike was around 40 yards) I simply aimed an inch above their back and the arrow came down through the boiler room. For you distance shooters, my "technique" won't work!

I prefer to hold over for up to 6yds compensation and will hold under with the next pin beyond that. No real rhyme or reason it's just what I have found my best success with. I do still split pins on the range or walkthrough course on occasion but personally for me holding over/under has been better.

I don't like to split pins cuz I like putting my pin on a spot and hold bow till it hits.  I go further pin on bottom of chest.  Try further low or closer high and see what works best for you

I look at the spot I wanna hit with the appropriate pins high/low. I have a 30 and below, 40, and a floating 50 I dial for anything over 50. Splitting them gets me within an inch or two usually

I never split pins, 45 yards was 12 oclock hold with 40 pin, etc.

Sounds like my shooting. Some reps I hold high, some low and some split. Just more a feel thing

This is a good point, I do take note of where my next pin down is to gauge my impact point.

I have read, but never had to try, the trick when shooting through a window between you and the target where you are unsure if it will clear. If the target is at 50, range the window and if it’s 30 yards, when you aim and put your 50 pin on the target, if the 30 pin is also clear of the window you are good.
