OIL Any antlered moose tag Mt spokane south
« on: August 17, 2023, 12:26:33 PM »
so I finally got a my once in my lifetime any bull moose tag and am stoked for this hunt, I live in the Mt spokane south unit and scout/ hunt it regularly, I have been watching bulls and helped 10+ other hunters connect on their moose, now that it is my turn I found out that the WDFW cut the unit really weird and the majority of it is Mt spokane state park and the rest is IEP or private property. I thought blanchard chapman rd was the divider from Idaho line to hwy 2, and of course that is where I knew where the animals were. so if anyone has some private property in the area or can give me some help lt would be greatly appreciated. I do have a IEP permit and plan scouring that too. I am a disabled hunter and will hunt as hard as possible, but I can't hike all day unfortunately. thank you in advance

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like the Thompson Creek area north of Newman Lake is still open. I haven't been up there in a few years, but I've seen some masters up there. There are a ton of roads that you would be able to drive. You do need to be aware of the state park boundaries though.
Side note, I live in the general area. If you get something on the ground, I would be more than willing to help out if I'm available. You can PM for my contact info if you want.
