I dont have any experience with snow shoes.
Who makes a good backcountry snow shoe from your experience?
Thanks!

Commenting so it will show up in my feed. I’ll try to post what kind I have when I get home and check. I’ve been really impressed with them. You can basically sneak right up on deer without them hearing you.
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

Have a muzzleloader tag at the end of nov.
from past experience snow shoes could be needed.
Post holing for miles with a buck in your pack is very painful.

Whatever you decide on buy early. Lots of the popular shoes have been sold out by October the last couple years. Also if you’ve never done it before or unsure about sizing Costco sells some MSR knockoffs that are decent enough to tell if it’s for you or not without the investment. I grabbed a pair last year as a “just incase” for my late hunt

If your going to use them 1 or 2 times a year, go with Mtnwalkers advice.

Msr lightenings are great.   I got a little s.aller that I thought I needed and got the extensions for fluffier stuff.  Shorter makes the downhill easier-but if you are sinking too deep just pop on the extensions.

The added benefit to magnesium is if needed you can shave a little off the tail to start a fire, if you have a spark, 5,400 degrees
There are only so many sunrises left.

I've been looking at getting Altai's instead of snow shoes. Pricey but more efficient than snowshoes.

MSR is the best in the game. If you're gonna do hard mountaineering, get the MSR Lightning Ascent, otherwise MSR Evo, Revo, or Denali Ascent will work just fine. Make sure to get the ascent model, it helps when going up steep hills.
I've had the MSR Evo Ascent for years and i love it.
