Elevation Advice
« on: August 31, 2023, 08:04:36 PM »
I wanted to reward one of my children with a hunting trip with dad. I thought he might enjoy a labor day bear hunt. I noticed there's no berry report this year. Is there a good resource that might suggest what elevation we should be looking at? I tried to comb through some hiking reports but didn't get any usable information. I'm not expecting easy success or even a sighting, but would like to at least feel like we're in the game.

cascades, above treeline, in blueberries is a good bet this time of year, say 5000-6000 feet.  look at wdfw harvest reports to see what GMUs get the most harvest and go from there.
