I can finally add to this thread after hitting it hard archery and muzzleloader season with close calls, I filled my multiseason tag this morning opening day of eastern rifle season!

My muzzy spike and the daughters modern spike from this morning.  Her 3rd bull in 4 years and she wasn’t able to hunt last year.  She’s on a good roll.

The Limhangerslayer family is definitely surpassing the 4% elk harvest odds. You guys are consistently taking down elk in spike only units. Well down! And congratulations to your daughter on her 3rd elk!

Congratulations on your bull. I saw two spikes the day before the opener.

These Arizona bulls really make me want to draw there!  Congrats to you both and to all the others finding success back home.  Hoping for an MT meat bull in a few weeks.

I relocated from Roy, WA to Phoenix, AZ in 2021. I still hunt Washington, but started hunting Arizona. You can hunt AZ year round for something. Big Game into late February 2024. Very difficult to get drawn for any of their permits. Even a doe and cow permit is difficult, and they are giving out many permits. I would say equal to a Bull permit in WA for a buck or bull permit. AZ Fish and Game told me they had 33% more draw applications in 2022, than in 2021, because so many people want to hunt AZ.

Arizona - 2023

I seen one like this in the back of a silver or white GMC or Chevy about 6 weeks ago driving south on the 17 into Phoenix. Antlers everywhere out the sides. I was happy for the hunter, knowing the effort it takes. Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊. Real cool.

We took the opposite approach - with 20+ hours of driving from Arizona to Washington we were being as covert as possible. Blanket over the rack, truck top as low as we could make it go. All you could see was a cooler

With all the stories of antlers getting stolen we weren't taking any chances. First time in my life I haven't displayed it on the way home but i think that was the right move

I’m definitely not an elk hunter so this was an experience.  Buddy killed a bigger bull.  2 bulls in 4 days and 1.5 days spent just packing meat.  I am completely exhausted.  New appreciation for dedicated elk hunters!  Wyoming.
Did you learn your lesson :chuckle:
