Had a great day filling my late season muzzy cow tag Wednesday. Hiked 10 miles in the pouring rain, found a great set of sheds just to shoot an elk 30 yards above a road next to the truck on my way out.

Can't get much better than that. Wow. Congrats.
:yeah: sounds like a pretty sweet day, congrats!
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Some beautiful animals on here, guys. Thanks for sharing. I'm hunting vicariously through all of you this year.

Congrats on his first elk!  YTC? I'm heading over this weekend to help a couple of friends and their sons out.

Cant be as hard as it was for my buddy and I many years ago. Had a Chevy love with a canopy on it. We shot 2 bulls and loaded them both whole into it. We were trying to figure out why we loaded the spike first and the big bull last!

Anymore it hurts to just load an elk whole in my open truck bed. Time to start using methods other than man power!  :chuckle:
