Any Nooksack Elk Experts Available?
« on: September 29, 2023, 10:00:39 AM »
Old timer friend drew a muzzy Nooksack tag. He spent opening weekend up there and quickly realized he isn't built for evidently how brushy and steep it is. I think he was expecting elk around every corner. I've never been up there so I'm not much help. If anyone has ideas or time to hunt I'd like to try and find him some help. He is a quality guy. Thanks

Good luck.  My dad had the tag last year.  With physical limitations and the competition (think gut piles at daylight that weren't there at dark when we put elk to bed) we had a rough time.

If he's limited physically I'd think really hard about shooting the first legal elk.

The "competition" is stiff.  They learned that real quick.

It is a tougher hunt than it used to be.  Shouldn't even be a "Quality" tag any more in my opinion....
